Biometric Mirror

What can we see in our own reflections, what do others see, including the machines that capture our data in the many places we visit? Consider the future of society as artificial intelligence continually captures our data and formulates automated decisions.

In this talk, Dr Niels Wouters will outline the social challenges that artificial intelligence introduces and illustrate why this needs new approaches to interrogate the ethics that sit behind the technology. Niels will illustrate the concept and findings of “Biometric Mirror”, an immersive installation that uses artificial intelligence to better understand people’s faces and to stimulate public discussion about the technology in society, politics, industry and academia.
